Assessment

I offer psychological testing for teenagers and adults. Psychological testing is a process in which I gather information about a person through interviews, evaluation measures, and review of medical and psychological history, and utilize it to help understand their unique cognitive and personality style, as well as answer the questions that brought them to seek an evaluation in the first place.

Sometimes, even after years of therapy, the pieces just aren’t adding up.

Psychological evaluation can provide an in-depth snapshot of your cognitive and emotional strengths and areas for growth, or areas of difference, allowing you to know what you need to move forward toward your goals and aspirations, whether forming the social relationships you desire, finding or maintaining a fulfilling job, or succeeding academically.

The Assessment Process

We will begin with a clinical interview which allows me to understand the questions you are seeking answers to, as well as to get a detailed history of your life up until this point. After the initial interview, I will determine what additional testing might help us gain a deeper understanding of what is going on. Testing often includes a combination of:

  • Self-report measures

  • Questionnaires or interviews with people who know you well (e.g., a partner or parent)

  • Cognitive testing

  • Neuropsychological testing

  • Social-emotional Testing

After completing the testing, I will create a comprehensive assessment report, as well as a personalized letter, answering the questions that brought you in for evaluation.
